The Dig Site
A live snapshot of how deep the search has gotten into every kind of place Suumer is trying to find events for — bars, music venues, breweries, theaters, and the rest — drawn the only way that made sense: as something being dug out of the ground.
Eight shafts, one per kind of venue, reaching down from the surface. Each one fills from the top exactly as far as the search has actually gotten. Near the surface that fill is plain water — just ground that's been covered. The deeper a shaft gets into ground that's already been checked, the warmer and redder it runs, like it's nearing oil — and the more that category has actually turned up, the higher up the shaft that glow reaches. A faint band deep down is the reservoir everything is reaching toward.
Reading depth left to right roughly follows priority order — music venues first, restaurants last — not literal position underground. Shaft width is roughly how many sites are in that category (log scale, since restaurants outnumber everything else by a wide margin); fill depth is roughly how far the search has gotten; how high the red climbs is roughly how much that category has actually turned up. All of it is approximate on purpose — a picture of the shape of things, not a spreadsheet.
